Tbh one of the main reason of Ultron still being respected and getting attention is because of James's spader portrayal. His voice, his way off bring life to this character is one of the biggest factor

In the original Wells story there's a similar scene where the narrator's stuck with an unstable man, but he only knocks him out and the man is then taken by the aliens. The narrator even calls it his "last touch of humanity" that he didn't kill him outright, so it's interesting that the film had Ray murder the guy.

Ultron has a human side to him.

Great video! I actually missed the point that was made in this video when I first saw it. Since he essentially couldn’t ‘die’ but has been killed numerous times in his lifetime I thought “So that’s what it feels like.” was him actually experiencing and crossing the threshold of ’Death’ and his healing factor keeping him ‘alive’ a few seconds longer for him to speak those words before the light went off for good. I still think that plays a part in it even though the family aspect is on point as well.

I wish they would’ve treated this moment more like the quarians and the geth in mass effect, where vision; not knowing the consequences of killing, lets ultron go. This could’ve ended with him ultimately returning in a later feature, as a much more stronger, menacing, and emotionally intelligent threat, having experienced so many more things, and becoming a master of trickery & deceit. But nah gotta kill off the villain who literally is known to always return, who doesn’t even inhabit a physical body because he is a hive mind with a main consciousness. This is akin to the Borg queen in Star Trek, where you can kill her all you want, but she always comes back

Considering how the MCU is doing now Ultron's, "Their doomed." Is very accurate.

I really didn't like the tangent. It was great but it would have been a great video on its own.

I never considered the toll this would this would take on the general human psyche afterwards. All of humanity basically resigned themselves to extermination, and knew it was inevitable after watching the worlds armies crumble. And then they were saved by the bell, living to see a day nobody expected to. the aftermath must’ve been similar to how European Jews felt after the holocaust ended, but on a global scale for all survivors.
